TOPIC: Cornwall and the Sea, Present Perfect, Could, Be Able to, Be Allowed to

LESSON AIMS:

• To develop Ss's speaking and listening competences
• To revise grammar concerning Present Perfect
• To develop Ss' ability to use language in real life situations

OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson the Ss will be able to:

• Use correctly the revised grammar problems
• Use the words and phrases in real life circumstances
TIME: 50 min
SKILLS INVOLVED: speaking, reading, writing,listening
AIDS: textbook, blackboard, class cassette
STAGES:

• Activity 1:Warm-up: ( 3 min)
Teacher's activity: T enters the classroom,greets the Ss ,asks them how they are, if there are any Ss missing. T remembers the task for the day.T asks Ss to review it quickly to make sure there were no problems with solving it at home.T corrects the mistakes, if any.
Students'activity: Ss greet the T and in turn read parts of the task.

• Activity 2: ( 5min )
Teacher's activity: T tells Ss to ask their partners questions about what Phillip Fantastic has done and answer them.
Students'activity: Ss solve the task.

• Activity 3: ( 5min )
Teacher's activity: T asks the Ss to imagine they’re going to have a holiday with a friend. They’ve both got a list of jobs. Have they done them all yet? They have to find out from their partner: What has he/she done? When did he/she do it? What hasnt’he/she done yet? When is he/she going to do them?
Students'activity:In pairs, Ss complete the task

• Activity 4: What do you know? (10min)
Teacher's activity: T tells Ss to write sentences on the blackboard about famous people and ask questions about them.

• Activity 5: (10 min)
Teacher's activity: T asks the Ss to finish some messages in English paying attention to the verbs been and gone..

Teacher's activity:T asks the Ss to write 6 things they can do now and what they could or couldn’t do when they were eight.

• Activity 7: (5 min)
Teacher’s activity: T asks the Ss to imagine they’ve found a green bottle on the beach. There’s a letter in it. The seawater has made some holes in the letter. Ss have to complete the letter using the past forms of the given verbs

• Feed-back:(5min)
Teacher's activity:T asks the Ss to imagine they are going to visit the Seal Sanctuary with some friends. What will they be able to do there?

T asks the Ss to write exercise 9 on page 113 at home .
