TOPIC: THEY USED TO HIDE HERE

LESSON AIMS:

• To develop Ss' speaking competences
• To revise and reinforce grammar concerning used to
• To encourage speaking and comprehension skills

OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson the Ss will be able to:
• Use correctly the revised grammar problems
• Use the new words and phrases in particular circumstances
• Create their own situations and deal with new circumstances in a conversation
TIME: 50 min
SKILLS INVOLVED: speaking, writing
AIDS: textbook, blackboard, class cassette

STAGES:

• Activity 1:Warm-up ( 3min)
Tea cher's activity: T enters the classroom, greets the Ss, asks them how they are, if there are any Ss missing. T remembers the task for the day, ex. 1 pg 93 from the textbook and asks Ss to review it quickly to make sure there were no problems with solving it at home. T corrects the mistakes, if any.
Students' activity: Ss greet the T, answer the questions and in turn read the exercise.

Class management: whole-class activity

• Activity 2: ( 5 min )
Teacher's activity: T asks the students to build words from different parts of speech.

Students' activity: Ss form verbal nouns and nouns.
Class management: whole-class activity, pair-work

• Activity 3: ( 5min )
Teacher's activity: T asks the Ss to complete some sentences using the words they have formed in the other exercise.
Students’ activity: Ss complete the sentences in groups and then check them.

• Activity 4: (7 min )
Teacher's activity: T asks the Ss to listen to the cassette and complete the sentences.

Students' activity: Ss work on their sentences in small groups and look back at the dialogue for help when necessary then report to the class.

• Activity 5: (5min)
Teacher's activity: T shows Ss the example in the textbook. T asks the Ss to look at the pictures and the captions and in pairs work out the their sentences then T goes through the answers with the whole class. .

• Activity 6: (5min)
Teacher's activity: T asks the Ss to roleplay two situations in which they buy tickets.
Students' activity: Ss roleplay the situation.

• Activity 7 : (5min)
Teacher's activity: T writes an example of each of the forms so and such and asks Ss to fill in the gaps as a whole class. T checks they understand the rules and know that can be left out in the result clause
