English Teaching : Lesson Planning

Class/level: 3rd grade/elementary level
Title of the lesson: We are swimming
Type of lesson: consolidation
Aims: At the end of the lesson the pupils will be able to describe weather, the action in the pictures.

Materials: book, blackboard, handouts

Anticipated problems:The pupils may have problems in expressing themselves in English.

Stages:

Introduction: - Teacher writes thw title of the lesson and the date on the blackboard. She provides the pupils with handouts.

Presentation/Elicitation: - Teacher reads some texts from the book with the appropriate photos. Teacher asks the pupils to read and translate the text.

Class work -The pupils are asked to identify correctly the action in certain images.
Egg: T: what are they doing?
P: they are swimming.
- Teacher asks the pupils to identify the correct action in the handouts(What is the weather like?Point and say)
- Teacher asks the pupils to rea two short letters.Then she askes them to answer to questions regarding the information in the letters.

Fillers:

- The pupils sing a song
- Reading for pleasure-Sam's chocolate in cream.
